Services
The Two Spirit & Native LGBTQ+ Center for Equity (2S Center) offers culturally-informed services to Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ+ organizations, as well as support for Tribal agencies and organizations providing services to Two Spirit and Native LGBTQ+ individuals.
The 2S Center provides presentations, training, and materials to Native organizations and communities to educate and restore the cultural identities of Two Spirit & Native LGBTQ+ individuals; address identified issues affecting the 2S community; and provide successful approaches to planning and implementation. These services can be delivered onsite or virtual TA, at national and regional gatherings, or within communities.
The 2S Center has developed a Four Pillar Approach for our services:
Research & Data
We are committed to developing, collecting, and housing relevant literature, resources, and materials. This is crucial for establishing a clear understanding of the health, well-being, and safety of Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ+ people.
Capacity & Resource Building
We provide national support through capacity building services for Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ+ organizations. This includes activities to build organizational capacity, develop infrastructure, and support community building, ensuring these organizations are stable, well-resourced touchstones for their communities.
Training & Technical Assistance (TTA)
We conduct TTA sessions with non-Two-Spirit and non-Native LGBTQ+ organizations that serve our communities. Our goal is to support these ally organizations in providing services that are culturally safe, accessible, and supportive to Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ+ individuals.
Policy & Advocacy
We develop model codes and policies for Tribes and other jurisdictions. We actively engage in critical conversations and decision-making processes to develop culturally safe laws, policies, and Tribal codes that guarantee adequate protections and rights for Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ+ people.
